Your holidays in the Gard, between Anduze, Pont du Gard and Ardèche
Reminiscient of the age of cloaks and swords in the 15th Century, Château de Boisson is the perfect setting for a wonderful holiday. This ‘Castels’ campsite is nestled in a small village of the Gard, near the Cévennes mountains, the Ardèche, and Provence. Why not come and enjoy an unforgettable holiday experience?
Château de Boisson has the unmistakeable style of Cevennes and Ardeches mansion-houses: elegantly restored stone work stands out on the archways and porches. For centuries, the “bastide” (country house) was both a stately home and a farm. Silkworms in particular were bred here to supply the silk manufacturers in Lyon. As a remnant of this industry there are several magnificent mulberry trees that shade the courtyard and spread throughout the campsite are majestic cedar trees delivering precious shade for the campers.
Situated on the slope of the hill and in the heart of a scenic village, the campsite was developed on three main levels. The pitches have been developed right across the 8 hectare site in order to provide a maximum of privacy for each one.
Gîtes (apartments) are also available for rental inside the castle itself.
A campsite with indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool with slide, two restaurants …
Château de Boisson offers various sports facilities and leisure activities – an outdoor swimming pool with water slide, a paddling pool for younger ones, an indoor heated swimming pool, two tennis courts, two bowls pitches, a multi-sport court and several table-tennis tables are available. It also offers quality dining and there is an outstanding restaurant with seating available either in the vaulted cellar of the castle or in the covered patio area by the courtyard. You will have the opportunity to savour fine, locally inspired cuisine: the mosaic of aubergines or the traditional beef stew will enchant your taste buds.
In the former stable block with its vaulted ceilings, there is now a workshop where painting courses are held and in peak season there are arts and crafts activities for children.
Outdoor sports enthusiasts are well provided for since the following activities are all available in the vicinity of the campsite: canoeing on the Cèze or the Ardèche, rock-climbing, potholing, horse-riding, quad or mountain-biking, and tree-top adventure parks!
Château de Boisson is also an excellent base for discovering the local area: the legendary Pont du Gard (aqueduct), the Ardèche Gorges, the Camargue, the caves in Trabuc, la Cocalière or Aven d’Orgnac, the amphitheatre in Nîmes, the duchy of Uzès, Avignon and its city of the Popes, and many other places of interest …
For out of the ordinary holidays, we can offer you a stately visit…
